                Mona Van Duyn (1921-2004)

VIEWS

First Line:   I fly all the time, and still I'm afraid to fly.

Van Duyn was awarded the National Book Award in 1971,
the Bollingen Prize for Poetry in 1971, and the Pulitzer Prize
for Poetry in 1991. In 1992 she was the first woman to be
named Poet Laureate of the United States.
